Students should do a complete shut down at least once every one to two weeks.
Here are some solutions to common issues.
Rotate Screen
Simply hit ctrl+shift+refresh. The refresh key is the one with the spinning arrow. It will rotate the screen 90 degrees. You need to press CTRL + ALT and arrow button on your computer then it will make your screen default.
Move Taskbar
On your home screen, right click by tapping two fingers on the trackpad. A pop-up box should appear where you can choose a right, left, or bottom position for your taskbar.
Zoom in or magnify your Chromebook screen
To see items on your Chromebook screen better, you can zoom in, magnify, or change your screen resolution.
To make everything on your screen bigger, change your screen resolution. To make your web page bigger, but keep other things on the page the same size, use zoom.
Make everything on your screen bigger or smaller
To make everything on your screen bigger or smaller (including your desktop icons and cursor), change your Chromebook screen resolution:
- Make things bigger (decrease resolution): Press Ctrl + Shift and +.
- Make things smaller (increase resolution): Press Ctrl + Shift and -.
- Reset resolution: Press Ctrl + Shift + 0.
Make a specific page bigger or smaller
To make the page you're looking at bigger or smaller, but keep other parts of your screen the same size:
- Zoom in (make things bigger): Press Ctrl and +.
- Zoom out (make things smaller): Press Ctrl and -.
- Reset zoom: Press Ctrl + 0.
Reset your keyboard to correct chartacters
Go to the taskbar on the bottom right. Click on keyboard language. Change to US keyboard language.

Have him log in, pull up the bar at the bottom of the screen to find settings
Go to displays
Using bar on displays page slide to 100%
Map Testing Issues
Not supported - sometimes if a student does a complete shut down when the computer comes back on it will work. Completely shutting down Chromebook allows for the device to update and sync almost immediately.
